Larry Whittlesey serves as the National Director of Church Relations for Heritage
Builders. As such he is responsible for the overall logistics of our conference
ministry and relationships within the larger church community.

Larry's background includes over 30 years of pastoral ministry. During that time he
has always been the "community" pastor, actively involved in the local ministerial
associations, organizing Easter Sunrise services, sponsoring concerts, or working
with interdenominational conference ministries. Therefore, when Promise Keepers
came to Eugene, Oregon in 1996, it was natural for him to get involved as the
head of the local volunteer effort. That initial foray into Promise Keepers eventually
led to him serving as the Local Event Manager for conferences in Eugene in 1996 &
1998, and then in Portland in 2000 & 2003. In addition, he served with PK in other
conferences around the West Coast in a variety of roles.
After 8 years of active involvement as a local volunteer, Larry accepted an offer to join the Promise
Keepers staff fulltime in June 2004 as one of 3 National Event Directors. In November 2007 he also
assumed the role as the Senior Director of Church Relations. As such, he traveled extensively to
organize local volunteer teams and layout the logistics for upcoming PK's National Men's conferences. In
2008 he produced and served as the emcee for a series of regional workshops for Pastors and Men's
Ministry Leaders. In his role with Heritage Builders he continues to communicate on a regular basis with
local churches and ministries all around the country.

Still a gifted speaker and writer, Larry regularly shares his passion for "making a difference" in the lives
of families at retreats, local churches, and other Christian gatherings. He has a special kinship with local
pastors, and maintains a unique ability to identify & connect with Christians of all ages through the
various ministry networks in a local community. His passion is help Christians understand the joy of
Christian service and apply the truths of scripture to their daily lives.
